Purple paper bead earrings, hematite beads, copper coils

Making coils is fun so I really like using them in my jewelry. Plus when you make them out of copper and apply a patina, they add an extra something to the piece.

The paper I used for these earrings is some I hand decorated with various inks including black, and a range of metallics. I carved the paper beads to give them a “one of a kind shape”. I love using hematite beads as they seem to dress up the earrings and compliment the paper beads.

For these earrings, I choose to use two tones of purple paper which work well together. Then added an acrylic coating to protect them from normal wear and tear, making them water resistant.

The earrings are lightweight, making them very comfortable to wear.

The earrings, including ear wire, are approximately 2 inches long and just under 1/2 inch wide. The earwires are sterling silver and come with an ear nut, in case you like using them.
