Mixing the texture of hammered copper with handmade paper beads results in a very pleasing aesthetic. I especially liked mixing the handmade carved yellow beads with the copper coils.
The paper beads used for these earrings were made from yellow paper which I hand decorated with various inks including black, and a range of metallics. The paper bead was carved to give it a “one of a kind” shape. I love using hematite beads as they seem to dress up the earrings and compliment the paper beads.
The earrings are approximately 2 inches long which includes the ear wires, and are 3/8 inches wide. The earwires are silver plated wire and come with ear nuts, in case you like to use them.
An acrylic coating was painted on the beads for protection, making them water resistant.
